Buchholz celebrate 35 years of marriage
Dennis and Patty Buchholz, Lawrence, celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary June 6 with a family dinner on the Plaza in Kansas City, Mo.
The couple were married June 8, 1974, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Eudora.
Dennis graduated from Lawrence High School in 1973 and Patty graduated from Eudora High School in 1974. Over the years, they have enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with their family.
They have two daughters, Angie Sommer and husband Chad, Lawrence; and Amanda Markey and husband Matt, Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
Davalos and Wainwright
Rose Mary Davalos, Hutchinson, along with Jack Wainwright, Sparks, Nev., and Cathy Wainwright, Biloxi, Miss., announce the engagement of their children, Sandra Davalos and Ken Wainwright, both of Eudora.
The future bride is also the daughter of the late Joe Davalos Jr. She is a graduate of Hutchinson High School, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree in education, and a Master of Science degree in education, all from Kansas University. She is employed by Lawrence public schools.
The future groom is a graduate of Edward C. Reed High School, Sparks, Nev., and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master of Science degree in sports medicine from the University of Oregon, Eugene. He is employed by Kansas Athletics Inc.
The couple plan a July 24, 2009, wedding in Lawrence.
Mott and Swann
MaryJo Mott, Belvue, and Thaddeus Swann, Fort Scott, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of JoAnn Mott and the late Rev. Daniel Mott, Belvue. She is a 2007 graduate of Saint Mary’s High School and currently is attending Pittsburg State University.
The groom is the son of Michael and Vicky Swann, Saint Mary’s. He is a 2004 graduate of Saint Marys High School and a 2008 graduate of Kansas State University. He is employed as a design engineer with Garmin International.
The couple plan a June 27, 2009, wedding in Topeka.
Parks and Seymour
Don and Sheryl Parks, Anderson, Mo., and Belinda and Jim Rehmer, Eudora, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Parks, to David Seymour, both of Tonganoxie.
The future bride graduated from Eudora High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Friends University. She is the patient billing coordinator for Lawrence Plastic Surgery.
The future groom is the son of Michael and Janice Seymour, Tonganoxie. He graduated from Tonganoxie High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Kansas University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Baker University. He is a programmer analyst for Lawrence Memorial Hospital in the information technology department.
The couple plan a July 18, 2009, outdoor wedding in Lawrence.
