What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.

I wanted to let the City council know we appreciated the time taken for public comment in refferance to the 15 minute parking downtown. I think that issue can be put to rest now after the reasons were made clear and looked at. I understand both sides of the issue and think at this time things are good.
Also thanks to Cheryl, Greg , Mayor Pyle , Chief Ates and everyone on the council for the Bikers For Babies ride support . It is very important to have a safe area for the riders to park and ride through our city. They are doing a ride to help our children and those kidos are important. The riders should start entering the city around 8:30am to 9:00am Sunday Sept. 16th and continue till about noon or shortly after. Having only bike trafic on Main Street for that period will help very much to provide a safe ride. We invite anyone to come watch the riders. Keep in mind, NO PETS should be in the downtown area (period) last year a dog ran lose and was causing bikes to swerve and almost caused an accident.
PLEASE keep dogs on a leash at home,away from downtown !!!!!!!!!!!!! also keep children close to you and not in the street !!!!!!!

What happen here...? The Bikers weren't allowed to travel downtown Eudora. Instead we all stood at the crossroad at Casey's. That was an accident ready to happen when the Casey's gas tank truck arrived and was trying to get through everyone. Kids and adults of all ages...everyone was in the streets. Thanks City Council members for making it safe. HA! HA! I am sorry they didn't block off Main Street. That was a great ideal.

blah blah blah, just cuz you like bikes, doesnt mean you can change all rules for the city of eudora. I should bring my dog down there and let it run wild!!! Why go "watch" bikes drive downtown? Yeah so you have a good looking bike? are you going to do a trick? seriously, some ride for good causes but, dont try and change the rules/laws just because it benefits you ONCE!

matt11 When you can raise the 10s of thousands we do for Make a Wish and Toys 4 Tots and other LOCAL charities youl know then what it is like to save a kids life, and be worried about running over someones dog they love like a kid.
I feel sorry for your dog. If you would say that you would let it run loose to be ran over, you may want to find a new home for it. Just an added note. Those Bikers who came through that day raised over $743.400.000 to help LOCAL kids.I think they deserve a liitle space.
