EHS Booster Club gears up for a new athletic season

August 17, 2000

Eudora High School boosters can have a chance to root for the home team during all games this season. The EHS Booster Club encourages community participation in all events.

Julie Woodward, Booster Club president, said club members will be available from 8-9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 24, at the high school "Practice Under the Lights" at Laws Field to promote the club's tailgate parties at all away football games.

Woodward said tailgate parties begin at 6 p.m. and end about 10 minutes before game time at each away game. The first tailgate party is slated for Sept. 1 at Paola. Hamburgers and hot dogs are on the menu.

The Sept. 8 menu for the game against Louisburg is walking tacos.

Any community resident is welcome to attend. Each participant is asked to bring a side dish, although it is not mandatory. There is no charge for the dinner, but donations are welcome, Woodward said. In the past, participants have furnished items including brownies, chips and pop.

"At the end of the season last year, we had over 100 people participating," Woodward said.

For more information, contact Woodward at 542-5014.

The booster club will serve watermelon and cantaloupe to athletes following their practices on Friday, Aug. 25. Abel Farms will provide the produce.

An informational meeting about the Eudora High School Booster Club will be held at 7 p.m., 30 minutes before the open house, Sept. 5 in the auditorium.
