Services for Florence Elna Jean, 78, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Harmony Methodist Church, south of Magnolia, Ark., with Brother Lyndell Chaffin officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery, Magnolia.

Mrs. Jean died Monday, Aug. 14, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.

She was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Magnolia, Ark., the daughter of Albert Marson and Mattie Dru (Dingler) Brinkley. She attended rural schools in Arkansas.

Mrs. Jean was a homemaker. She moved to Eudora in 1996 from Beeville, Texas.

She married James Richard Hopson in 1939. He died April 14, 1986. She later married Clarence Lee Jean. He also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Richard Hopson, Eudora; two brothers, Albert Brinkley Jr., Waverly, Texas, and James Dixon Brinkley, Finley, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Gale Ruby, died in 1993.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Lewis Funeral Home, Magnolia.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association stroke research, or to a charity of the donor's choice, specializing in stroke prevention and care. They may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 38, Magnolia, AR 71753.
