No services are planned for Manuel Eugene Smith, 80, Eudora. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Smith died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at Eudora Nursing Center.
He was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Leslie, Ark., the son of Manuel and Mollie (Price) Smith. He attended Leslie public schools, and moved to Eudora in 1951.
Mr. Smith served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was owner and operator of a grocery store and also a restaurant in Leslie. After moving to Eudora, he was a superintendent in heavy construction until he retired in 1981.
He married Maurine Vincent on Feb. 13, 1937, in Marshall, Ark. She died Jan. 2, 1997.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie Eugene Smith, Eudora; a daughter, Diana Lutz, Eudora; a brother, James Smith, Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Irene Smith, Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
