August 31, 2000

A Eudora businesswoman discovered hard work can pay off and provide a trip to Seattle in the process.

Caren Rowland, branch broker for Coldwell Banker McGrew Real Estate, Eudora, was recently selected to attend a three-day conference in Seattle. The conference was Aug. 3-5 and was sponsored by the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation. Sales associates must be in the top 13 percent internationally to qualify to attend. She has been a Eudora branch broker since 1991.

Rowland said she learned of developments in the industry that will aid the buying, selling and displaying of real estate. Her office currently uses a virtual tour, where prospective buyers can search Internet sites for pictures of homes on the market.

Technology is changing our business so much, Rowland said. Technology is becoming a big change for real estate.

Rowland said she plans on implementing more technological aspects into her work.

I think the technology part is what Im really going to work on, Rowland said. What I want to do is make it easier for buyers and sellers to get what they need off the Internet.
