Private inurement services for Donald Dean Cain, 73, Lawrence, will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Cain died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Lawrence, the son of Joseph Dean Hamilton and Mabelene (Belcher) Cain. He attended Lawrence schools.
Mr. Cain served in the Merchant Marines in 1945 and the U.S. Army with the 313th Engineers from 1951 to 1953. He worked for the Lawrence Paper Company in research and development from 1941 until his retirement in 1992. He was a fur trapper and belonged to numerous genealogical societies.
He married Roberta Belle Siscoe on May 13, 1951, in Lawrence. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Michael Dean Cain, Lawrence, Mark David Cain, Arvada, Colo., and Matthew Donald Cain, Eudora; a daughter, Melinda Diane Milleret, Linwood; two sisters, Leta Lorraine Ewing and Dorothy Colleene Siscoe, both of Lawrence; and seven grandchildren.
