Amber Flowers, Eudora, and Peter Maynard-Moody, Lawrence, were wed Aug. 24, 2000, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Eudora, with Francis Hendricks officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Donald Flowers, Odessa, Mo. and Keith and Jeanie Rodgers, Eudora. The groom is the son of Steven and Carey Maynard-Moody, Lawrence.
Darcie Rodgers was maid of honor. Mike Kurtz was best man.
Jody Wood, Andrea Turpin, Bethany Burrow and Janice Gezel-Wagner were bridesmaids. Brian Freeman, Darren Hendricks, Jesson Ross and Jeremy Lawson were groomsmen.
Grandparents of the bride are Raymond and Deloris Kurtz and Katherine Flowers, all of Eudora, Willard and Dorothy Rodgers, Ottawa, and Billie Freeman, Kansas City, Mo. Grandmother of the groom is Helen Maynard, Seattle.
Tori Gezel was flowergirl. Tyler Freeman was ring bearer. Meghan and Jennifer Rodgers were guest book attendants. Jane Hillbert and Connie Ford were personal attendants. Samantha and Rachel Rodgers were candle lighters. Jason Musick was soloist and Jean Hendricks was organist.
The couple left the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage, traveling to Eudora Nursing Center to see the bride's great grandmother, Frances Kurtz.
A reception was at Alvamar Country Club, Lawrence.
The bride is a graduate of Eudora High and is attending Kansas University studying pediatric and adolescent medicine.
The groom is a graduate of Lawrence High and graduated from Kansas University in May 1999. He is employed with the city of Overland Park as Geographic Information Specialist.
The couple lives in Lawrence.
