Rose E. Rinke

Mass of Christian burial for Rose E. Rinke, 87, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Eudora.

Mrs. Rinke died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 5, 1913, in New York, the daughter of William and Wilhelmina Timmerman Eveld.

She lived in Eudora for many years and later moved to Lawrence.

Mrs. Rinke was a homemaker. She worked in home health care for children and the elderly, and at Hercules, Inc. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and had been a member of St. Theresa's Society at Holy Family Catholic Church, Eudora. She was an active member of Douglas County Senior Center, a former member of Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion Auxiliary and Lawrence Women's Bowling Assn.

She married Henry C. Rinke Jr., on April 25, 1933, in Altus, Ark. He died Dec. 25, 1989.

Survivors include four daughters, Rosemary W. Lamb and Beatrice J. Seymour, both of Florissant, Colo., Emmeline "Emily" Dahlem, Eudora, and, Bernice "Bea" Brien, Lawrence; two sons, Richard H. "Dick" and Wilbern C. "Bud" Rinke, both of Lawrence; 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Eugene W. Rinke and Clarence E. Rinke, and three grandsons died earlier.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University or Douglas County Senior Center, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
