Harold E. Gabriel
Services for Harold E. Gabriel, 89, Eudora, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Eudora United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Eudora Cemetery.
Mr. Gabriel died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 28, 1911, in Eudora, the son of Gustav and Anna Hornberger Gabriel. He was a lifelong resident of Eudora.
He graduated from Eudora High School in 1928 and attended Pittsburg State College.
Mr. Gabriel was a farmer. He was a member of the Eudora United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher. He was a past member of the Eudora School Board, a 4-H leader, and a member of the A.S.C.S. Board. He was also active in several conservation groups.
He married Margaret Lucille Spitzli on Dec. 10, 1938, in Olathe. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Sharon Knaub, Hoyt; two sons, Jerry Gabriel, Bishop, Calif., and Mark Gabriel, Eudora; one sister, Esther Engwicht, Salina; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Eudora United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
