Private graveside services for Laura L. Straight, 90, Eudora, are planned at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.
Mrs. Straight died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at Eudora Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 3, 1910, in Clay County, the daughter of Lloyd and Myrtle (James) Hockett. She moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1968 from Lawrence and moved back to Lawrence in 1973.
Mrs. Straight was a manager at Rusty's Bakery for 10 years before retiring in 1968. She was also a member of the Unity Church and the Autumn Club.
She married Delbert N. Straight on Dec. 14, 1941, in St. Joseph, Mo. He died Sept. 17, 1972.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Berg and Patsy Gardner, both of Lawrence; a son, Buddy Straight, Los Gatos, Calif.; two sisters, Thelma Elliott and Billie Maudsley, both of Farmersville, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Eudora Nursing Center, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
