Cardinals finish third at tournament in McLouth
McLouth A third-place finish at Saturday's invitational tournament in McLouth has the Eudora Cardinals feeling pretty good about themselves.
A 6-3 record doesn't hurt either.
The Cards won matches against host McLouth, Jackson Heights and Valley Falls at the tournament, thanks to an aggressive style of play.
"The thing that made us successful at the tournament was our aggressiveness and hustle," said senior setter Melanie Smith.
Passing was also key to the victories, something the Cardinals had hoped to improving after some early-season struggles in that department. Freshman Lauren Kracl made the all-tourney team, thanks to some nifty passing.
The JV Cardinals lost two of three matches in Spring Hill and fell to 2-7 for the season.
"Overall, we stuck together and kept our additudes positive, but fell short at the end of each match." said junior Lacy Deathe.
