Memorial services for Roger Alan Borland, 53, Lawrence, were Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial with military honors by Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Borland died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 14, 1946, in Lawrence, the son of Fred and Ruby Borland. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1965 and attended Florida State University.

Mr. Borland was an Army ranger during the Vietnam War. He worked at Kmart Distribution Center for 28 years.

He was a chapter member of Fathers Alliance To Have Equal Rights and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Tyler Borland, California; four daughters, Shelly Teehee, Lawrence, Sherry Chaney, Eudora, and Andrea Borland and Danille Borland, both of California; and five grandchildren.

A son, Tucker, died in 1989.

The family suggests memorials to the Roger Alan Borland Memorial Fund or to the Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion Building Fund, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence.
