Services for Edmond Paul Stroda Sr., 71, Eudora, were Wednesday, April 4, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mr. Stroda died Friday, March 30, 2001, at his home.

He was born Jan. 1, 1930, at the family farm near Clinton, the son of Lawrence P. and Etta (Maybee) Stroda.

He attended Model Grade School in Douglas County and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1948.

Mr. Stroda owned one of the first television repair shops in Lawrence in the late 1940s and 1950s. He was involved in many building projects in Lawrence, and also operated the family farm northwest of Lawrence. He retired as a project engineer after 25 years with Hercules Inc., and later owned the Triple E Drilling Co.

He married Cauletaus Bone on Jan. 1, 1950. They later separated. She survives. His companion, Betty Stroda, survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Sherry Chappell-Dickens, Guam, and Vicki Stroda-Smith, Tulsa, Okla.; two sons, Edmond Paul Stroda Jr. and Lawrence Paul Stroda II, both of Lawrence; a sister, Marie Jarboe, Florida; five grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.

A grandson died earlier.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
