Services for U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. David Patrick Clayton May, 21, Olathe, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at American Legion Post No. 142, Perry. Burial with military honors will be in Buster Cemetery, rural Perry.

Mr. May died Saturday, March 31, 2001, in Naples, Italy.

He was born Nov. 20, 1979, in Topeka, the son of David Thomas and Rhonda Renee (Brannock) May. He graduated from Perry-Lecompton High School in 1998, and earned a welding certificate from Kaw Area Vocational & Technical School, Topeka.

He was a member of Marine Corps Security Force, 1st FAST Unit, and was stationed in Norfolk, Va. He was transferred to Italy for training.

He was a member of Williamstown Assembly of God Church, Williamstown, and was a member of the church youth group.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Rhonda R. and Chuck Royer, Olathe; his father and stepmother, David T. and Debra A. May, Eudora; three sisters, Ronna May, Perry, and Amanda May and Jennifer May, both of Olathe; five stepbrothers, Brian Royer, Brad Royer, Brett Royer and Ben Royer, all of Olathe, and Andrew Sindorf, Eudora; three stepsisters, Amy Royer and Ashley Royer, both of Olathe, and Audrey Chamberlain, Eudora; his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Evelyn Brannock, Perry; and his paternal grandmother, Darlene May, Perry.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.
