Services for LeRoy E. Edgerton, 74, Eudora, were Wednesday, April 11, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. Burial was at Prairie Center Cemetery, rural Burlingame.

Mr. Edgerton died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Kansas University Medical Center.

He was born March 8, 1927, in Burlingame, the son of Ralph and Irene (Roush) Edgerton.

He was a career military man in the U.S. Army, where he achieved the rank of master sergeant. He served during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and was stationed in several other locations, mainly Germany, Korea and Japan.

After he retired from the military in 1967, he drove a truck for Pepsi Cola Company in Topeka and later for Palmer News, Topeka. He retired in 1983 and moved from Topeka to Eudora.

Mr. Edgerton married Agnes Kunigunde Lesch on Aug. 21, 1959, in Kitzingen, Germany. She died June 27, 2000.

Survivors include four sisters, Anna Besser, Eudora, Eleanor Shearin, Moody, Texas, Ethel Huske, Harveyville, and Virginia Skinner, North Platte, Neb.; and one brother, Ralph Edgerton, New Cambria, Mo.

The family suggests memorials to the Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
