Thell Dean

Graveside services for Thell Dean, 92, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Eudora Cemetery.

Mr. Dean died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at Eudora Nursing Center.

He was born July 2, 1909, in Paris, Ark., the son of Houston and Ora (Nichols) Dean. He grew up in the Altus, Ark., area. He moved to Eudora from Denning, Ark., in 1945.

Mr. Dean worked in the coal mines in Denning, Ark. After moving to Kansas, he worked for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in De Soto. He also owned and operated a construction company, Eudora.

He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Eudora, where he served as Sunday school superintendent for many years.

He married Beaulah Yother on June 20, 1931, in Altus, Ark. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Benny Dean, Eudora, and Galen Dean and Thelbert Dean, both of Texas; three daughters, Lois Breithaupt, Eudora, Mary Sharp, Texas, and Claudia Oglesby, Colorado; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Eudora Nursing Center, 1415 Maple Street, Eudora 66025.
