Alyssa Nicole Novacky
Tom and Bev Novacky, Eudora, announce the birth of their daughter, Alyssa Nicole, on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Alyssa weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and was 19-1/2 inches long. She has two older sisters, Maci, 8, and Emily, 7.
Grandparents are Louis and Julie Schindler, Hill City, Anton Novacky, Columbia, Mo., and the late Dorothy Novacky.
Great-grandparents are Vera Schindler, Stockton, and Katarina Novacky and Dorota Hyrossova, both of Bratislava, Slovakia.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
