Services for Charles E. Rose, 92, DeSoto, were Monday, Feb. 12, at DeSoto United Methodist Church. Burial was in DeSoto Cemetery.

Mr. Rose died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Eudora Nursing Center.

He was born June 17, 1908, in LaCygne.

Mr. Rose had worked at Hercules Army Ammunition Plant in construction, and for the Shawnee and DeSoto school districts. He retired in 1975. He then began selling Fuller Brush and Massons Shoes.

He married Stella Massey on Aug. 14, 1935. She and a son, Kenyon Rose, died earlier.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Russell, Eudora, and Marge Ireland, DeSoto; a son, Marvin Rose, Phoenix; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials, which will remain in the DeSoto area, be sent in care of Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, P.O. Box 101, DeSoto 66018.
