Eudora church finds room to grow
A Eudora church has moved to a new location, hoping the building change will invite more to visit and discover what the church is all about.
Covenant Church moved to its new location in the lower level of Byrne's Pharmacy at 10th & Maple in December.
The church began in March 2000 with services held at the home of the Rev. Rob Lang.
The congregation has close to 24 members, Lang said. Though attendance seems to have reached a plateau, church members decided to make the move to a different location. Lang said he hoped the extra space would soon be filled by those looking for a place to worship.
"We felt the best way to continue to grow was to get another building," Lang said. "It was definitely time to get something larger."
Lang said the additional space in the new location has made the services more comfortable.
Children have a separate room for Bible studies and additional tables are set up for adult Bible studies.
The church currently holds services Sunday mornings and evenings, but Lang hopes to add a Wednesday evening service as the church grows.
The new accomodations have given church members more space, but they are still looking for musical talent.
"We're looking for a piano player still," Lang said.
As Covenant Church continues to grow, Lang said, he looks forward to meeting anyone interested in discovering what the small church is teaching spiritual nourishment.
"We'd be glad to have anyone come and join us for worship," he said. "I'm just thankful that God is using me to allow this to happen in Eudora and live in a place that His word is preached."
