Local business climate sees change with Seasons
With the changing seasons, one never knows what new things can be found right around the corner. As the ground heats up and the trees begin to show color, Eudora's business climate is also changing with the opening of Seasons.
Seasons, a garden and patio accessory store, opened its doors last week at 724 Main Street. The store specializes in lawn and garden ornaments, benches, fountains and other decorative items. The store is an extension of Broers Flower Shop, 704 Main Street.
Sharon Reynolds, owner of both stores, said Seasons is a natural extension of the flower shop. She rents the building Pam Staab, Lawrence.
"There were some things like this that I wanted to do with the flower shop," Reynolds said. "This is kind of a test. I'm anticipating this to be just a seasonal shop right now."
Reynolds said she had long wanted to open a store like Seasons, but didn't have room in her flower shop to be at the capacity she desired. After the location became available last August, she took time out of running the flower shop to get Seasons up to par.
Fortunately for her, most of the equipment needed to get the store ready was just a few steps up Main Street.
"We've worn out the sidewalk walking back and forth," she laughed. "Everything we need is at the other shop."
Seasons is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. A grand opening date has not been set, Reynolds said.
Employee Kellie Green will manage the store.
