Edwin and Rose Peterson
Edwin and Rose Peterson, Louisburg, Mo., formerly of Eudora, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Friday, May 4.
Rosie A. Taylor and Edwin E. Peterson were married May 4, 1941 at Carters Tabernacle, Woodhill, Mo. They moved to Eudora in 1954 where they resided until 1999.
Edwin worked at the Pacific Naval Air Base in Port Hueneme, Calif., for about two years before serving in the Navy during World War II. He was a farmer and a carpenter and retired from Hercules after 18 years.
Rosie is a homemaker and also worked for the Pacific Naval Air Base for three years during World War II. She worked for Stokley Van Camp in Lawrence for 12 years.
The couple have four children, Pearl Henrikson, Louisburg, Mo., Kay Pesnell and Tony Peterson, both of rural Eudora, and Larry Peterson, Topeka; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A reception will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Eudora City Hall.
