Memorial services for Othal O. Wiley, 100, and Eva Graham Wiley, 95, both of Yuma, Ariz., were Tuesday, May 8, at First United Methodist Church, Yuma. A second memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Reno Church, Tonganoxie. Inurnment will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mr. Wiley died May 3, 2001, in Yuma. Mrs. Wiley died March 11, 2001, in Somerton, Ariz.

Othal Wiley was born Feb. 24, 1901, near Linwood, the son of Lemuel and Anna (Hilner) Wiley. He grew up and attended school in Leavenworth.

He farmed near Reno for many years, and served on the Reno Township Board and Leavenworth County Conservation Board. He was a member of Reno Methodist Church.

Eva Graham Wiley was born March 24, 1905, near McLouth, the daughter of Robert and Nannie (Osborn) Graham. She graduated from Tonganoxie High School and earned a teaching certificate from Emporia State Teachers College.

She taught at Smith School, northeast of Tonganoxie, for two years. She was a member of Reno Methodist Church, Reno Ladies Aid, Busy Bee Club and Kent HomeMakers EHU. She served on Leavenworth County EHU Extension Council and as a justice of the peace for Reno Township.

From 1962 to 1969, she worked at Kansas University Student Housing Department. In Yuma, she volunteered at Senior Citizen Nutrition Center and received an honorary citation for her work. She also helped with the Council on Aging.

The couple married Nov. 2, 1924.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Kaiser, Topeka, and June Hagenbuch, Lawrence; a son, Emil F. Wiley, Lawrence; Othal Wiley's brother, Walter Wiley, Tonganoxie; Othal Wiley's sister, Elizabeth Hammons, Tonganoxie; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.

The family will meet friends following the services in Tonganoxie.

The family suggests memorials to Tonganoxie Historical Society for the Reno Church, Tonganoxie United Methodist Church, American Diabetes Assn. or American Heart Assn., sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie 66086.
