EHS volleyball ready for league finale
The Eudora High School volleyball team showed signs of improvement at the Louisburg Triangular Tuesday night, but it knows the league finale will not be easy.
Eudora,(9-15) (2-5), will conclude its Frontier League season with a home triangular against Paola and Wellsville. The Eagles defeated Eudora in a triangular meet at Lyndon earlier in the season.
"Both Wellsville and Paola are going to be tougher," Coach Jill Stutler said. "I'd rather play teams that are tough so we can play up to our ability."
On Tuesday, the Cardinals opened the Louisburg triangular with a three set victory over Louisburg 15-6, 10-15 and 15-7, for their first Frontier League road win of the season.
Eudora played two hard-fought sets against a competitive Osawatomie team but lost 13-15 and 11-15.
"We needed a victory and it was good to get a win under our belts before we saw Osawatomie," Stutler said..
EHS competed in four non-league games at the Wellsville Tournament on Saturday. Eventual third-place finisher Anderson County defeated EHS 15-6,15-4. However, the Cardinals bounced back to defeat 3A Pomona 15-9, 15-12. In the final two games of round-robin play, Eudora lost three game sets to Waverly, 15-2 8-15, 15-7 and Osage City 8-15, 15-9, 15-12.
