Freddie E. Brecheisen

Services for Freddie Eugene Brecheisen, 83, Gardner, were Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner. Burial was in Clearfield Cemetery, Eudora.

Mr. Brecheisen died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at the Olathe Medical Center.

He was born April 10, 1918, in rural Eudora, the son of Walter Peter and Ella Marie (Miller) Brecheisen. He grew up in rural Eudora and then moved to Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Eudora High School and Lawrence Business College, Lawrence. He moved to Gardner in 1945.

He was an accountant for the Gardner Medical Center for 18 years. He retired on March 31, 1980. He also had worked as an accountant for Westinghouse Electric Company in Kansas City, Mo.

He was a member of Gardner Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Gardner Grange.

One brother, Hubert Brecheisen; four sisters, Helen Smith, Orothy Perry, Alice Bosley and Wilma Griffin; and one grandson, Anthony Rochte, preceded him in death.

He married Dorothy I. Erskine on Feb. 9, 1941, in Edgerton. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Howard E. Brecheisen, Bartlesville, Okla., and Kenneth A. Brecheisen, Gardner; a daughter, Judith A. Rochte, Gardner; one brother, Wesley Brecheisen, Eudora; two sisters, Eva Waggoner, Eudora, and Marie Foster, Shawnee; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
