Thornton-Perry
Chris Thornton, Olathe, and Charles and Ruth Perry, Baldwin, announce the engagement of their children Kelly Marie Thornton, Olathe, and Nathan Charles Perry, Baldwin.
The future bride is a graduate of Louisburg High School and Brown Mackie College.
The future groom is a graduate of Baldwin High School and Kansas State University. He was a science teacher at Eudora High School. He recently graduated from the U.S. Air Force Officer Candidate School. He will be flying the new T-6A U.S. Air Force Trainer at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia.
The couple plan a Sept. 7 wedding.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
