Earl E. Quick
Memorial services for Earl E. "Big E" Quick, 68, Linwood, were Thursday, Nov. 7, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Mr. Quick died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at his home. He was cremated.
He was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Vernon L. and Leona Mae (Lee) Quick. He grew up in Rosedale and moved in 1989 to Linwood.
Mr. Quick was an Army veteran. He established Quick's Bar-B-Q & Catering Co. in 1964 in Kansas City, Kan., and then in 1995 in Lawrence. He was a member of Rosedale V.F.W. and Rosedale Eagles Club.
He married Marion P. Christman. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Donald A. Quick, Gardner, Edward McLain, Kansas City, Kan., and Ronald J. Quick, Linwood; three daughters, Lori A. Starnes, Teresa L. Hanna and Karen Tuttle, all of Kansas City, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Aaron Cauthon and Dawn Wilkerson, both of Independence, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
