Eudora getting referrals from Lawrence-Douglas County Chamber for relocating businesses
Eudora garnered mention from the Lawrence-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce eight times during the last quarter. Vice President of Economic Development Lynn Parman said the Chamber referred businesses looking to relocate or expand to Eudora eight times between April and June.
"We're glad to have such a fine business park in Intech," Parman said.
She said activity levels at the Chamber had picked up since April, although that mostly meant businesses looking for data and researching the county.
"We're still not getting people in for the test drive," she said.
Although the Chamber is hoping for more site visits to Douglas County, Parman said increased marketing on the Internet had drawn increased hits to the Chamber's Web site, www.lawrencechamber.com.
Marketing Director Alicia Janesko said the Chamber's new marketing materials were out. In redeveloping the marketing materials, which previously hadn't been updated since the mid-1980s, the which previously hadn't been updated since the mid-1980s, the Chamber expressed interest in representing Douglas County as a whole and its other cities rather than just Lawrence.
Janesko said the materials went out to CEOs and developers, giving them the highlights of Douglas County, including its quality of life and demographics. The materials went out to 180 contacts last month, Janesko said.
