During a meeting Friday at Eudora High School, Lavern Squier, president of the Lawrence-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, told K-10 Association members an immediate goal for local leaders was to form an action plan for the state Legislature.

The Eudora Cardinals boys basketball team rebounded from a tough loss to Highland Park with an improbable performance against Piper. The Cards upset the potent Pirates 52-39 Dec. 11, securing third place in the Cardinal’s Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament.

It was a strange week to match a strange season for the Eudora Cardinals girls basketball team. The circumstances imploded at Paola in a 62-50 loss Dec. 12. But just four days later, Eudora was sleep-walking through a 53-22 win over Wellsville.
