Something’s fishy
May 8, 2003
Lucas Becker shows Justin Wellman what’s left of the fare he sampled at Saturday’s fish fry in CPA Park while fellow scout Brock Miller finishes his meal. The boys also served as a living billboard, yelling “fish fry” at passing cars to advertise the event, which raised money for local Boy Scout groups. Becker and Miller are part of Troop 3064, while Wellman belongs to Troop 52. The boys said money raised at the previous fish fry paid for a tent, which the Scouts had on display at the park.

City of Eudora has few options with fireworks sales
May 8, 2003
The Eudora City Council is considering whether it should allow fireworks stands in the city. The choice, as the city’s attorney made clear, is to allow all vendors who meet city regulations to open fireworks stands to do so, or allow no such stands. The city can’t limit the practice to non-profit organizations.
