Graveside services for Chester Marlow Bowen, 91, Lawrence, were Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Bowen died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence.
He was born Nov. 25, 1911, in Linwood, the son of Sterling and Dorthula M. (White) Bowen.
Mr. Bowen worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years on the road gang. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a lifetime member of Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He married Mildred I. Jump. She died earlier.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence, was in charge of arrangements.
