Eudora singers perform with district honor choir
Max Howig, senior, and Paul Chaffin, sophomore, represented the Eudora High School choral department Saturday at the Northeast Kansas District Honor Choir at Blue Valley High School. Both students sing with the superior-rated men's ensemble under the direction of Angela Yarnell.
Singers are selected following an intense live audition in front of a panel of three choral judges and one sight singing judge. District Honor Choir participants are eligible for the Kansas State Festival Choir in February 2005 in Wichita. This is the second consecutive year Howig received this honor.
Howig and Chaffin rehearsed challenging music for several hours Saturday with a 250-voice choir and it's clinician, Paul Crabb, before performing for a standing-room-only audience at an afternoon concert.
