The Pittsburg State Gorillas’ football team ended a magical season in Florence, Ala., with a disappointing loss to Valdesto State in the NCAA Division-II championship game. For Eudora graduate Zachary Tyler, the season was one for the books, despite falling short of the goal.

Saturday’s wrestling tournament in Emporia was supposed to be a nice tune-up for the Eudora Cardinals heading into the Christmas break. It was anything but. “It was tough,” Coach Bill DeWitt said. “We made a lot of mental mistakes. I’d have to say I wasn’t very happy.”

Lions Club to make cemetery searches easier with directory

The Eudora Lions Club is pursuing a project to place a cemetery directory at the Eudora Cemetery by next spring. The Eudora City Council voted Dec. 13 in support of the project, which is set to receive $3,000 from the city’s budget next year.
