Chamber of Commerce Web site ready for business
In the short time www.eudorachamber.com had been in existence, Web site administrator Rob Lang told the Chamber members at their annual dinner he had five e-mails, including those from someone moving to Eudora and another inquiry about nearby hotels and motels.
It is the Eudora Chamber of Commerce's hope that the site will allow the city and its businesses an opportunity to promote themselves in a far-reaching way.
"We're able to respond to people, whether they're in Australia or wherever," Lang said.
And inquiries about motels should help the site attract advertisers through the site's lodging section -- and in turn perhaps attract additional Chamber members, who would be given a discount.
The site lists all Chamber member businesses, with the opportunity for businesses to create a link from eudorachamber.com to their own Web site for $24. For $200, businesses without a Web site can have one created, with about $135 going back to support the Chamber.
Special sections in addition to lodging include a listing of Eudora landlords for those looking to rent and a section about Eudora's schools.
The site also includes photos from around town, a Eudora map, and Chamber special events. Moreover, Lang said the Web site would allow the Chamber to post the newsletter online, saving money on printing and mailing.
