Velma L. Holzhauser

Memorial services for Velma Louise Holzhauser, 85, St. Joseph, Mo., were Tuesday at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Private inurnment was at Bellemont Cemetery, Wathena. She was cremated.
Mrs. Holzhauser died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at a health care center in St. Joseph.
She was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Independence, Kan., the daughter of William and Nora (Hamilton) Lear. She had lived in St. Joseph since 1936.
Mrs. Holzhauser was a homemaker. She attended Platt Gard Business College and was a member of King Hill United Methodist Church.
She married Alpha "Al" N. Holzhauser on May 7, 1938, in Lansing. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Lois Markley, Cleveland, Mo.; two grandchildren, including Jill Dickerson, Eudora; and four great-grandchildren.
A brother, Grover Lear, preceded her in death.
The family suggests flowers or memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
