Brown, Nuffer exchange vows
Hilary Brown and Michael Nuffer married April 3, 2004, at Liberty Hall in Lawrence with the Rev. Sherry Schultz officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John and Helen Kiefer, Lawrence, and James Russell Brown, Ellensburg, Wash. The groom is the son of Gary and E.J. Ellis, Eudora, and the late Hilton Nuffer.
Matron of honor was Heather Wingate. Best man was Dwight Perry Jr. Bridesmaids were Alison Kiefer, Michelle Andersen, Kathy Arenal, Dena Hasman and Vicki Pepperdine. Groomsmen were John Fox, Greg Roy, Sean Feeley, Brian Jahelka and Steve Welcome. Flower girl was Baylie Kiefer. Ring bearer was Miles, the couple's dog. Ushers were Greydon Walker, Mike Kiefer and Rob Kiefer. Neva and Jordan Schwartzendruber assisted with the programs.
The bride is a 1987 Lawrence High School graduate. She received a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy in 1994 from Kansas University. She recently completed the culinary program at the Natural Gourmet Cookery School in New York City. She is employed by Full Circle Farm in Kansas City and teaches cooking classes at the Community Mercantile Co-op in Lawrence.
The groom is a 1983 Lawrence High School graduate. He received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts in 1992 from KU. He is the owner of Michael Nuffer Construction.
The couple live in Lawrence.
