Eudora’s high school and middle school students prepare a musical extravaganza

The song from the John Waters' movie-turned-Broadway-musical is one of more than a dozen pieces vocal music students from the seventh through twelfth grades will perform this weekend during the second annual variety show, "Platinum."
The show begins at at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Eudora Middle School, 2635 Church St.Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students 18 years old and younger.
"Platinum" also features a live band, and songs in the variety show originate as early as the 1920s, such as the Gershwin tune "Someone to Watch over Me," to more recent fare like Gloria Gaynor's 1979 disco tune "I Will Survive." Contemporary pieces include songs made famous by Norah Jones, Good Charlotte and Evanescence.
