Community Learning Center graduating nine

May 20, 2004

The Eudora Community Learning Center will graduate nine students at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Eudora High School Commons, 2203 Church St. The graduation marks the first-ever for the program, which began last fall at the former Eudora Middle School building, now known as the Eudora Community Learning Center.
The program allows non-traditional high school studentto earn a Eudora High School diploma at their own pace. Instructor Mark Poltera said the students who completed the program before this year's ceremony began as early as last fall or as recently as a month ago.
Saturday's ceremony will include recognition of each student and a speech by USD 491 Superintendent Marty Kobza. A reception for family and friends will follow.
