Services for Harry Donald "Don" Workman, 76, Lawrence, were Monday, Nov. 1, at First Baptist Church. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Workman died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Perry, the son of Harry D. Workman and Melva Fletcher Workman Cornelssen. He moved to Lawrence when he was in high school. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School.
Mr. Workman served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953. He worked for FMC and retired after 27 years. He also was a volunteer for Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. He was a member of American Legion Post 14 and First Baptist Church.
He married Mary Slagle in 1950 in Springfield, Mo. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Julia Berardi, Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Dwain Workman and Mark Workman, both of Lawrence, and Stephen Workman, Wamego; four sisters, Dolores Trapp, Topeka, Donna Farrier and Dixie Ravgiala, both of Lawrence, and Darlene Musick, Eudora; and seven grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church or Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence 66044.
