Maelee Leslie Folks
Chuck and Diane Folks, Lecompton, announce the birth of their daugther, Maelee Leslie, on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Maelee weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces and was 21 inches long.
Grandparents are Richard and Verna Stanwix, Lawrence, Richard E. Folks Jr., St. Peter's, Mo., and Carrol Freed, Lecompton.
Great-grandparents are Elsie and Ira Moore, Lawrence, and Richard E. Folks Sr., Bonner Springs.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
