Photos from NES parade and downtown trick-or-treating
Students at Nottingham Elementary School had their annual Halloween parade to the Eudora Nursing Center Oct. 29 before heading back to their classrooms for celebrations.
On Halloween, many of the town's youngsters headed downtown for an afternoon of trick-or-treating at the local merchants' doors. The downtown event was organized by Hometown Dollar.
The Eudora United Methodist Church also sponsored a Trunk or Treat event in the empty lot at the intersection of 14th and Church streets as another alternative to safe Halloween trick-or-treating.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
