Nicolay’s celebrate golden anniversary
Rex and Mary Ann Nicolay, Eudora, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 2 with an anniversary mass at old Holy Family Church. A buffet dinner followed at Eudora City Hall.
Rex Nicolay and Mary Ann Schehrer were married Oct. 2, 1954 at the old Holy Family Church.
Rex retired in 1992 as security chief at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant after 29 years of service. Mary Ann worked in the officers of Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, Farmland Industries and Woolworth's District Office.
The couple's children are Mark Nicolay, Eudora, and Monte and Lori Nicolay, Spring Hill. They have three grandsons.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
