Melanie Smith and Jeffrey True, both of Manhattan, married Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Countryside United Methodist Church in Topeka, with the Rev. Paul B. Mitchell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Janice Smith, Eudora. The groom is the son of Tom and Sue True, Keller, Texas.
Maids of honor were Michelle Smith and Shena Niedens. Bridesmaids were Becky Davidson, Brandi Abel and Leslie Suitt. Best men were Brady Myers and Carlos Casas. Groomsmen were Ryan True, Paul Smith and David Vera. Flower girl was Kayce Warren. Ring bearer was Logan Hiskey. Vocalists were Dane and Rebecca Folster. Candlelighters were Stephanie Hiskey and Kate Briggs. Ushers were Josh Briggs, Brandon Lespagnard, David Beach and Clayton Forgey.
A reception took place at Knights of Columbus in Lawrence.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Eudora High School. She is attending Kansas State University pursuing a degree in architectural engineering. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Washburn Rural High School. He is a senior at Kansas State University in elementary and special education.
The couple live in Manhattan.
