Appreciative car hops
The members of the Eudora Emergency Medical Service would like to express appreciation for the success of our fund-raiser Sept. 25 of this year. We appreciate Sonic Drive-In for sponsoring our fund-raiser, Fidell Jimenez for providing deejay services, and the people and businesses that provided prizes and entertainment.
Mostly, we appreciate all the people who bought food and made donations, making the fund-raiser a great success. The money raised will help us purchase additional equipment to provide an even greater level of care to the people we serve.

What do you think about a proposed ban on smoking in public places such as restaurants, bars and workplaces?
As much as I hate government interfering with our lives, I love the smoking ban. Going out in Lawrence is so nice without smelling cigarette smoke at your table while eating.
