Lions express appreciation
The members of the Eudora Lions Club would like to express our appreciation to the residents of Eudora and surrounding communities for the generous donations to our Candy Day Drive on Saturday, Oct. 16. Lions Club members were accepting donations at C&S Market and along Main Street in exchange for rolls of candy. Money raised from the project goes to the Kansas Lions Sight Foundation and other related sight projects.
The Lions Club is also asking that any bicycles that are not being used or are in need of repair be donated to the Lions Club. The club will deliver the bicycles to the Lansing Correctional Facility where the inmates dismantle and rebuild the bicycles to like-new condition. The restored bicycles are then available to the community and distributed to needy families.
Anyone wanting to donate bicycles or bicycle parts to the project may call Bob Slapar at 542-2315 or Tom Tucker at 542-3927. They can arrange to have the bicycles picked up from your home.
We appreciate the community's assistance with these Lions Club projects.
Bob Slapar, secretary
Tom Tucker, member
Eudora Lions Club
