The sooner the better for donating Cardinal 12th Man auction items

September 16, 2004

Although a variety of items have already been donated for an auction benefiting Cardinal 12th Man, more donations are needed soon so that auction items can be advertised before the Sept. 26 event. Auctioneer Dan Hoover encouraged donors to call ASAP to help get word out about the items for auction ahead of time. Hoover can be reached at 542-1326.
Hoover also said donors could take a clue from already-donated items that range from electronics, coins and sports equipment to furniture, oil paintings and tools. Items for auction also include: a computer; Kansas City Chiefs football tickets; a seven-day stay in a northern Wisconsin cabin including hunting and fishing; and a 25-minute plane ride for three in a Cessna 172.
"People are donating all sorts of items," Hoover said.
Although participants are encouraged to donate items now, donations will be accepted from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 25. Hoover said organizers hoped to have several hundred items to auction.
The auction kicks off at 1 p.m. Sept. 26 at Laws Field.
