I am a registered voter in Douglas County. I am writing to let people know that they are not alone in lacking health care. I know I am one of a few Americans who actually has insurance coverage for my health. The only reason that I can afford that is because it's offered through my job.
Millions of Americans are living right now without any sort of safety net when it comes to their health. It is a shame that in a country with so much wealth, a majority of the citizens are living without healthcare readily available to them. Prescription drugs cost more than necessary, and the price of specialists is unbelievable.
The president of the United States is supposed to be held accountable to the people of the United States. He or she is our highest elected official. As our highest elected official, George W. Bush, has allowed more and more Americans to lose health care and to be gouged by drug and insurance companies.
The facts are plain as day. We all know that health insurance is too costly and drugs are too expensive. I think this is one of the many issues that should be examined by Americans before casting their ballots this November. Whose side is the president on?
