Services for Marjorie Ann Trine Thoms, 75, Kansas City, Mo., were Wednesday, Sept. 22, at United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Mo. Burial was in Gardner Cemetery, Gardner.
Mrs. Thoms died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.
She was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Valley Falls, the daughter of Sidney Christy and Helen Marjorie Hansen Simons. She later moved to the Gardner and Edgerton areas. She moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1955.
Mrs. Thoms graduated from Edgerton High School and attended Baker University.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Blue Ridge Blvd. United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Mo. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and the Eastwood Hills Community Association.
She married Donald Eugene Thoms on May 7, 1947. He survives of the home.
Survivors include five daughters, Kathryn J. Schiltz, Raleigh, N.C., Janice Steele, Blue Springs, Mo., Barbara J. Thoms of the home, Alexis Griffin, Suffolk, Va., and Julie Ann Suppenbach, Lee's Summit, Mo.; a son, Donald "Chris" Thoms, Mission Hills; two sisters, Gloria Bagby, Eudora, and Cynthia Spence, Independence, Mo.; a brother Jeff Simons, Memphis, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
