Services for Harold L. Crady, 80, Lawrence, were Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Crady died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 30, 1924, in Lecompton, the son of Louis Wesley and Margaret Alice Hemphill Crady.
Mr. Crady served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in World War II. His tours of duty included New Guinea and the southern Philippines. He worked for Theodore Poehler Wholesale Grocery Co. for 10 years. In 1958 he went to work for Hallmark Cards and retired from there in 1987.
He attended Indian Hills Church of God.
He married Helen Delene Banks on March 5, 1943, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Hal Crady, Lawrence, and Ron Crady, Shawnee; two daughters, Joyce Crady Curry, Eudora, and Janet Crady, Erie; a sister, Betty Stauffer, Lawrence; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn. or the American Heart Assn., sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence 66044.
