Services with military honors for Michael C. "Mike" Hawkins, 66, Lawrence, were Monday, April 11, in Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Mr. Hawkins died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at his home.

He was born Dec. 1, 1938, in Cadillac, Mich., the son of Clyde L. and Vera L. Gibson Hawkins. He graduated from Cadillac High School.

Mr. Hawkins served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1962. He was a truck driver for Topeka Transfer and Storage for 32 years, retiring in 2000.

He married Margaret S. Parkstone on Aug. 13, 1960, in Aiken, S.C. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Mark Parkstone, Coronado, Calif., and Steven Hawkins, Lawrence; three daughters, Patricia Hawkins, Lawrence, Lisa Green, Eudora, and Annette Lickteig, Liberal; two brothers, Clyde Hawkins, Cadillac, and Willard Hawkins, Topeka; three sisters, Betty Bailey, Saginaw, Mich., Iris Schmuck, Branch, Mich., and Mary Lamb, Cadillac; and eight grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence 66044.
